The question of the week for April 23, 2007 was:

What do you do about working at home if something unexpected happens? Do you bag it for the day or try to make it up later?

Kat tries to finish all of her projects later that night if she get interrupted.

Since Tess‘s weekends may change, she tries to keep on schedule. She sometimes gets a lot done on Saturdays and Sundays when there is less email to answer!

If Eve gets interrupted she will probably not try and make it up later in the day.

The Shopping Mum recently hit a car and that put a wrench in her plans. She took a deserved break!

Suni is going on vacation soon, and like most of us, wants to make sure she has internet connection while she is there! Being without the internet can sure make a work backlog!

If you are a work at home mom or work at home woman, please join in the Question of the Week. After answering the question, please leave a comment and I will add all responses to a separate post with a link back to your blog.

    I don’t work much during the afternoon hours anyway, my son is home from preschool then and I’m home primarily to spend time with him. I generally work early in the morning, during preschool hours and in the evening when he’s sleeping. If I miss work for some reason, I make it up by working later in the night, asking my husband to help out so I can work on the weekend, or getting up even earlier in the morning. When I go on vacation, I make sure the house or hotel has an Internet hookup, otherwise I can’t stay there and I’ll work in the morning before my husband and son wake. I also take my laptop with me sometimes when visiting inlaws or my family and work when everyone is asleep.;

    During the recent Nor’Easter, not only did I find myself without power and electricity, but I also ended up taking my first sick day in five years as I had the flu. On Tuesday I woke to an email dismissing me from one (short and low paying) job because I was out of touch on Monday. Some people don’t like to hear the word emergency – but then those are the jobs I try to avoid.
