Have you made your after Thanksgiving plans. I really want to do some Black Friday shopping, but I think I will have to clean my house instead. We just returned from a short trip to Seattle and my house is a mess! I also plan on getting out all the Christmas decorations and organizing everything for Christmas. Hopefully the weather will be good on Friday or Saturday and I can hang the Christmas lights.
If you are looking for good Black Friday sales, make sure you check out internet stores as well. They often offer deals the entire weekend, not just on Cyber Monday!
Don’t forget to visit my other blog. I have three giveaways going on right now, and much more to come. All giveaways will end on December 3, 2010.
The Fruit Bowl from the Well Dressed Home
I love to give and receive jewelry gifts. I am not too picky about jewelry. In fact, I love sterling silver jewelry which can be much less expensive than gold. Also, I actually like cubic zirconia rings, earrings, and necklaces because you can get nice looking pieces with bigger stones than real diamonds. If you do choose to give cubic zirconia, please make sure that you divulge this to the recipient. You don’t want them to find out later that the jewelry they thought was diamond was actually not!
Since the Holidays are coming shortly, and I love all the goodies associated with it, I thought I might start exercising a bit more to hopefully avoid the extra pounds that can be put on. I have started walking with a friend two days a week and I hope to add a couple more days a week to that after I drop the kids off at school. I am not quite ready to try an hcg Austin program, although I have heard about some success stories. Maybe I can find a good online walking program.
Wow! I have come across a lot of shopping deals recently and am planning on featuring a bunch of them on my other blog The Shopping Duck. Plus, next week, I am hosting a bunch of giveaways. Head on over to my blog now and read about the giveaways and how to get extra entries.
The kids are off school this week and I was hoping to go on a mini vacation, but I never got my act together and get it planned. I was going to drive down to Virginia and stay at Massanutten, a resort there. First, though, I wanted to find the best radar detectors because I always seem to be where the police are. Now, I am not a speeder, but I do tend to go a little over the speed limit and I really don’t want to pay for a ticket. Then I found out that radar detectors are actually illegal in Virginia, so I started thinking of another place to vacation. I ran out of time trying to put something together, but I did find some good radar detectors. Maybe next year!
I attended my son’s Halloween party last week. I must say that I was glad that the costumes were toned down this year. Last year, there were a number of girls that wore what I would consider very inappropriate. They were too short and showed way to much skin. There were also a few girls who looked like they were selling cigarettes or cigars. This year, the costumes were much more age appropriate. I can’t wait to see what the high school kids are wearing tomorrow, that is always a real eye opener!
Use this coupon to buy one entree and get one free at Ruby Tuesday. It is good for up to $10! Ruby Tuesday has some great food, so if you haven’t tried the restaurant yet, now is a good time to do it.
Thanks to Jenn Cooks, I need to buy the best whey protein powder to keep off the weight I am going to gain from cooking up (and eating) all her delicious recipes. I tried this one last week and they were a big hit with my family. The lemon flavor was awesome and the cookies were VERY simply to make. Here is a pic of the final outcome from Jenn’s Blog. Hurry and try these, they are fabulous!

I love chocolate, as do lots of over people. This caused me a lot of grief as a teenager looking for acne treatment instead of just eating healthier! If you love to bake with chocolate and love cupcakes than this contest is for you. Click here to find out all the rules about the contest and you could win $20,000 and a trip to New York City! The winning recipe will appear in the Food Network Magazine.
