I have been bombarded lately with ads for “detox.” Not detox as in drug or alcohol detox, but toxin detox. There are products such as orovo detox or those things that you attach to the bottom of your feet that claim to detox your body of toxins as well. There is a concern about toxins, such as pesticides, household cleaners, food additives, drugs, pollution, and the like, entering the body and the body not being able to totally free itself from the toxins.
If you want to try a detox product, make sure that you also try and eliminate toxins from your diet or surroundings. Some detox diets suggest that you avoid sugars (even artificial sweeteners), dairy products, wheat, gluten, coffee, alcohol, food additives and preservatives, chocolate and high-fat foods.
It doesn’t look like there is much left that you CAN eat, however, you can partake of fruit, rice, beans, nuts and seeds, olive oil and water. Fortunately, this diet is meant to last only two weeks. I am nut sure that I could follow this type of eating plan for any more than that!

Detoxing is something I’ve been intending to do for ages. However, I just never get around to it.
I can cut out the sugar, the fat, the booze and even most of the processed food. But I just can’t kick the coffee.
That’s one toxin I just can’t do without I’m afraid!
