What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?

— Henry David Thoreau

Very interesting quote! I think Thoreau is not thinking just about the big picture (the planet, earth), but our own little small “planets.” If you live in an neighborhood where you do not feel welcome or you feel like an outsider then you may not be particularly happy. And if you are not happy what good are your possessions (house)! Sometimes I think we focus too much on what we have as physical possessions and not on who we are.
