Summer is Here

Summer is officially started at my house today since the kids had their first day with no school! I have a plan this summer and I hope that I can carry it out. We go to the gym three days a week. Wednesday’s are FUN days (this week we will go to the beach) and the rest of the time we will spend organizing one room at a time. Hopefully if I get everyone to pitch in, it shouldn’t take us too long to get the house more organized.

I have learned a few “rules” on getting my kids to help out:

1. Work side by side. If I am there helping them, it goes faster and gets done the right way.
2. Give them specific tasks and only one task at a time. Make sure that they report back every time a task is completed.
3. Offer rewards. We will be having one fun day a week. BUT they must help out first!
4. Make sure they have and do their regular chores as well. I just have a couple for each of them for the summer so they don’t get so overwhelmed.
