Home Furnishings
I have heard a lot lately about home furnishing memberships. They work something like Costco or Sam’s Club. You pay a yearly membership fee and then you are able to buy home furnishings at manufacturer-direct prices. One of these memberships, directbuy, has a wide range of cabinets, counter tops, vanities, sinks, flooring and tile and tubs and showers. You can request a free visitor’s pass, take a look and decide if the prices are really incredible.

Even if the prices are great–isn’t there something distasteful about buying your furniture in a big warehouse? I always viewed furniture as something you buy and keep in the family for years–even generations. It’s one of those things I think should be unique and beautiful–not mass produced. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got some IKEA stuff–but I wouldn’t pay for a membership to buy it.
