I am always looking for faster cleaning techniques, and here is one for the kitchen.
- Get all of your needed supplies. Items such as cleansers, dishcloths, sponges, etc., can be put in one bucket for use every time.
- Fill your sink with hot, soapy water.
- Scrape off all the dishes into the trash.
- Place dishes that need to soak into the hot water. These are dishes that you know your dishwasher won’t completely clean. If you have large dishes, such as pans and bowls, fill them with hot soapy water and put them on the counter to soak.
- While the dishes are soaking, clean up all trash including the floor, countertops, etc.
- Gather all items that are out of place and put them away. DO NOT reorganize cupboards at this time, it will just slow you down.
- Gather all items that do not belong in the kitchen. A laundry basket is good for this. Put them away once you are finished cleaning the kitchen.
- Load the dishwasher or wash the dishes by hand.
- Clean all countertops, applicances and the sink. Lysol or Clorox wipes come in handy for this job.
- Sweep and mop.
- Take out the trash.
You are all finished!
