I have so much stuff to sell on eBay! The problem is it takes time. I have been selling on eBay for about 5 years now and here are the things that have always worked for me.
- Research. I always perform an advanced search on the item I want to sell and check off ‘Completed Items Only’. This lets me know what previous, similar items have sold for. I base my beginning price on this research.
- Set a Price. I am not willing to set my price at $0.00 to start. I know that some experts say starting at $0.00 might get you more bids, but then again, are you willing to let the item go for $0.99? I’m not. For stamp sets, I usually start my bids at $5.00. For other items, I base my beginning price on the research.
- Make your own template. You can make a template in HTML and use it. I use Turbo Lister (a free download from eBay) to make my listings. Turbo Lister will then upload your listings for free.
- Use the free counter from eBay to see how many visitors you are getting. If you don’t get many, the item just might not sell that well.
- Charge REASONABLE shipping charges. I usually charge exactly the cost it takes to ship it, if I am using USPS Priority Mail. The envelopes and boxes are free! If you are shipping by another method, you might want to charge a little bit more to cover envelope, box, tape and other costs. No one wants to buy a $10.00 item and have it cost $20.00 to ship.
- Pictures are a must. You must have a gallery picture and pictures detailing your items. I won’t buy an item if there aren’t any pictures.
I am off to take more pictures and sell more items!

I have traded on and off ebay, near 6 years, its great place to buy and sell. I sold some items as well on ebay. You have given some nice tips as well here. I agree, if you have lots, it does take a lot of time to list.
