There is nothing more in this world that my 9 year old daughter wants than a dog. She does have allergies, so there are only a certain number of dogs that are in the running. I have explained to her that taking care of a dog is a lot of responsibility, but she seems up to the challenge. She is already looking at pet beds, collars, leashes and the like, but first she has to convince her dad that she can have a dog.
Here are the three dogs she is trying to choose between:
Yorkshire Terrier
Havanese
Shih Tzu

indeed! My daughter also loves dog. And I allow her to have pet dog because it teaches her to be responsible. It also teaches her to love animals and care for them.
