I was contacted by Cup of Comfort. They are seeking Single Mom stories for a new book that they are about to publish. Here is what they are looking for:

Single Moms: Let Your Voices Be Heard! The bestselling Cup of Comfort book series (Adams Media) is seeking compelling personal essays for an anthology honoring single mothers, who too often go unrecognized. We want true stories that read like good fiction and that both entertain and move readers for publication in an anthology honoring single mothers. Stories can be humorous or poignant or both, and must be original, uplifting, in English, typed, and 1000-2000 words. Authors must be at least 18 years old. Simultaneous submissions and some previously published material OK. $500 grand prize; $100 ea. all other stories; plus copy of book. No entry fee. Email (no attachments) and include full name, mailing address, and phone. Submission deadline: 3/20/07.
