Eventually, I would love to get a new car. My van is almost at the 100,000 mile mark and I know things will start breaking soon. I have looked at car prices and, wow, cars are expensive. I think I might have to settle for a smaller car that I want. I am still looking at SUVs or minivans, but I could end up with this:
It is Olympic time and we have been watching the Olympics faithfully at our house. We love the speed skating, bobsled, and ice skating. Plus the skiing is fun to watch too! One of my friends actually does testing (such as for hgh or steroids)for some Olympic athletes and she attended the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City a number of years ago.
Attending the Olympics is one of the items on my bucket list!
The funny thing about security cameras, they record anything. Many a stupid criminal has been found after not realizing that their crime was caught on tape. Sometimes, however, there are fun things that security cameras catch. This guy gives the world something to smile about. (I would have embedded the video, but couldn’t.)
Well Christmas is over and I did get almost every thing that I wanted. I received a new cell phone that can finally sync up with my Outlook Calender. Now I don’t have to carry a paper calender with me. I also received some nice jewelry, a sweater and chocolate! I would have loved to receive a steam cleaner, but that is just not a good Christmas gift.
Now, I need to sit down and try and make my New Year’s resolutions. This year, I am going to try really hard and make some resolutions that I can actually follow through on. Nothing too major, as big goals seem to get lost and never completed.

I am trying to plan a trip to New York this holiday season, since I love to go in and see the Christmas lights and feel the energy of the city. Since I live in New Jersey, it is only a short train ride away. My kids love to go into the city too. We love visiting Times Square and we have to stop at the big Toys ‘R Us store. I don’t even mind the smell of cigars and roasting chestnuts as we stroll along the streets.
It might be fun this year to try and take a carriage ride. I am sure my kids would enjoy that!
This year is probably going to be a safer Thanksgiving. Why? Because less people are traveling this year. However, an estimate 38 million people will travel for Thanksgiving and many expect to travel more than 50 miles. The traffic reports seemed about the same in our area. Both the Turnpike and the Parkway were packed with cars and expect for the occasional car and rv breakdown that slowed up traffic things were pretty smooth.
We only had to travel less than one mile for our Thanksgiving destination. My in-laws live only a few blocks away and except for the myriad of parked cars on the streets that we had to navigate through, it was smooth sailing!
Well, we had a great Thanksgiving meal yesterday and now I feel like I need some Stimerex ES, I am still stuffed! We had the traditional Turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, sweet potatoes, plus some specialties like shrimp, stuffed mushrooms and stuffed clams.
We played a little Wii and watched a little football and then went home and the kids watched the Polar Express. I was asleep by 9:00pm!
This year, my middle daughter decided to go as a 50s girl Fortunately, I had made a skirt a few years ago. I found a Hannah Montana black leather jacket at WalMart for only $20 to complete the outfit.
Here is the first Halloween Costume that I completed this year. My son wanted to be Obi Wan Kenobi. I found a tunic pattern and adjusted it (with some online Jedi help) to make it into a Jedi robe. I also made a cloak and belt. He has already worn it once and is thrilled with it. We found some boots online to complete the outfit and he had the light saber in his Star Wars collection.
The New York Giants Stadium (which is actually in New Jersey) is going to be torn down and a new stadium will replace it. My kids attended the Red Bulls Soccer Camp this summer and then were invited to attend a game and have some fun on the field before the game started. It was a great chance to go to Giants Stadium before it gets destroyed. Here are some of the kids on the field. They had a great time playing with the trainers and having their picture taken with a Red Bull trainer.
