A Six Year Old’s Perspective

Fortunately, children forgive all your faults. While I am thinking about how I hate having my picture taken and I need to figure out a fast weight loss program, my son, on the other hand, loves to sneak the camera and take lots of closeup pictures of himself, me, and various other things which I sometimes can not figure out.

I recently downloaded the pictures from my camera and found these pictures that my son had taken without my knowledge:

There is nothing better than a six year old’s perspective on the world!

Pictures from the Concert

We took a number of pictures from my daughter’s band and chorus concert last night and also a good number of videos. What I didn’t realize was that those videos sure take up a lot of memory. Next time I will come better prepared with extra flash memory drives for my camera.

Here is my daughter hiding from the camera:

Band Concert - Star Wars

Last night was our end of the year Band, Chorus and Orchestra Concert for the elementary school. My daughter plays the trumpet and also sings in the Chorus. The finale for the band was Star Wars. My son was so excited. He was waiting all evening for this performance.

Mowing the Lawn

He is not quite tall enough, nor strong enough, but my six year old wants to mow the lawn. He sees his Dad and older sister doing it and thinks he should be able to. Here he is trying to start the lawn mower:

He needed a little help from Dad, but soon they were off and running. Nice job!

Blast From The Past - The M&M Girls

I was going through the photos on my digital camera and realized that I had not copy a bunch of them to my hard drive. The end of the year last year was a busy time for us. What with school concerts, Halloween, selling stuff of ebay for Christmas and installing new alarm systems for the cars, I never got around to posting some of the end of year photos that I had.

This one is my older daughter and her friends. They decided to be M&Ms for Halloween. My daughter was the yellow one since she is the tallest.

A trip to the Zoo

This year, my 9 year old daughter’s class trip was to the Bronx Zoo. This is the same trip that I took five years ago when my older daughter was in 4th grade. Since there were a lot of parent volunteers, there wasn’t enough room on the bus, so I drove into New York with a couple of the other moms.

We had four kids and two adults in our group. The first thing the girls wanted to do was go to the GIFT SHOP! Why is is all about shopping with young girls? We steered them in another direction and told them they could shop at the end of the trip.

The Bronx Zoo is an amazing place, but be prepared to walk. The tree covered walk ways kept us cool, but you really have to move if you want to see the whole zoo in one day.

Easter Pics!

Every year we go to my in-laws for Easter Dinner and an egg hunt in the living room. The kids love this! Here they are looking for eggs among the Easter goodies:

After the eggs were found, all the Easter gifts were open and the sugar rush began!

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

This week my kids were off school, so that really cut into my blogging time. We went to a movie - Monsters & Aliens - which was just ok and we also took the train into New York, went to Central Park, Toys R Us and the M&M shop. Since we were thirsty we stopped off at Jamba Juice and purchased a cool drink (they are very yummy)! I had the Mango A Go Go and my daughter had the Orange Dream Machine. I liked the Orange better than the Mango.

Tomorrow is Easter and I better get hopping and get their baskets ready!!

Back from Utah

I have been absent from this blog for good reasons. First, I attended the funeral of my Uncle. It was great to see all the cousins and families again, but it was such sad circumstances. We will miss his sense of humor and love for everyone. Second, after I got back I was so swamped with things on my to do list that I couldn’t even get to the computer!

Hopefully, things are back to normal now!

Basketball is Finally Over!

My daughter played on the Freshman High School team this year and finally finished tonight with a win for third place in the conference. Their record was 18 wins and 2 losses which is not too shabby. She didn’t get much playing time tonight and I am not sure why, but she was glad they won all the same.
