Update a Kitchen Look

Are you tired of your kitchen, but can’t afford new cabinets and flooring? Update your kitchen look by installing new cabinet knobs. There are so many styles, colors and finishes to choose from that you might have a hard time deciding which one you like best. Since I have white cabinets and a black countertop, I thought that these knobs would look beautiful!

A Clean Fridge!

Today, on my to do list, was to clean out the fridge. I haven’t done it in ages so it took me a good hour. If you want to clean your fridge in less time, I suggest using 15 minute increments.

  • Clean only one shelf at a time.
  • Take everything off the shelf and place on a table.
  • Remove the shelf, clean and wipe down the surrounding area in the fridge.
  • Go through all the food and through out old and expired condiments and items. Be harsh!
  • Put the food back on the shelf neatly. You can reorganize all the items once you have every drawer and shelf clean.
  • Don’t be tempted to use box cutters to remove the old stuck on food and spills! This will ruin your fridge. Use warm water and a sponge. If necessary, use a plastic childs knife to scrape gently.

To prove to you that I did it, here are the before and after pictures!

15 Minutes - Kids Room Cleanup

Can you clean a kids room in 15 minutes? Try these steps:

Get all your supplies, including the hamper, trash can and toy box. Plus get another box for things that do not belong in the kids room.

Put all the dirty clothes in the hamper.

Put all the trash in the trash can.

Make the bed.

Put all the clean clothes and items to put away (that belong in the room) on the bed and then put them away.

Put all items that don’t belong in the room in a box to be put away later.

If you give your child these steps and they work on one item at a time, they will have an easier time cleaning their room!

15 Minutes - Kitchen Drawers

What can you do in fifteen minutes? While you are cooking dinner take 15 minutes to clean out one of the kitchen drawers and reorganize it.

Take out all of the contents and sort them into categories. Shoe boxes work well for this sort of task, so keep a few on hand. Label one of the boxes “Not Kitchen” and put everything in it that does not belong in the kitchen. Plan a time to put those things away later.

Test pens and toss them if they do not work. Throw out “extras.” Do you have too many twist ties - toss them! Put away items that belong in other places in the kitchen.

All items that belong in the drawer should be put back in the drawer. Think about getting some drawer dividers or organizers that will help keep the drawer more organized.
