Toy Shopping

I love to buy educational toys for my kids, but they need to be fun as well. Learning Resources offers a great variety of toys that are educational AND fun. Many of the toys have reading and math themes. I recently purchased three different toys for my kids. Here are my reviews:

Spill Your Guts
spill your guts

I bought this game for my daughters (ages 8 and 13). My third grader has been learning a lot about how the body works at school so I though this game would be great. The game is easy to set up. Each kid answer questions about the body and if they get it correctly they get an “organ” to place in their tray. If they answer incorrectly, they have to dump out the tray and start over. It comes with little plastic organs and trays for up to 4 players. My son, who is four years old, also thought this game was great!

Gears!Gears!Gears!® Lights & Action Building Set

My son did not have a building set, so I got him this one. Great choice! He spends hours playing with all the gears and pieces and even has my older two daughters helping him. The best part is some of the pieces light up! Included in the set are 121 durable, plastic gears, a power motor, flashing lights and glow-in-the-dark stickers. All the pieces fit in the plastic bucket, so clean up is easy!

Race Around the Clock

Race Around the Clock is the third game I received. I purchased this one for my daughters. It involves time-elapsed problems which is great for my third grader who has been having problems with this at school. The kids “race” around a big clock face that is the board. They had fun solving the problems. It was too involved for my four year old, but he had fun watching and trying to help.

Right now they have a special limited time offer. Only $4.95 shipping on purchases of $65 or more. Use code FSWEB07 on checkout.
