Asheville
Last year a friend of mine who came to my house to do stamping moved down to North Carolina. This year another friend and her family are moving there too! I live in New Jersey (as did my friends). The cost of living is very high here. The real estate and housing prices are some of the highest in the Country. No wonder they want to move to North Carolina.
After looking at various cities, they both fell in love with Asheville! They looked a numerous Asheville homes and found a very wide range of property. And let me tell you, it is a much better value than New Jersey! I guess that Asheville is becoming quite the mecca for new house buyers and real estate investors. The city is not too large, but still has all the benefits. There is plenty of live entertainment, including theater, music and dance and there are plenty of art galleries and boutiques!
It seems that many people are attracted to Asheville because of the small town feeling with the big city advantages. Asheville is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains but does not get really harsh winter weather. The AARP has named Asheville one of “The 50 Most Alive Places to Be.”
Now that I have friends there, I will have to go for a visit. It really does sound like a charming place!
